Utilizing Media: A Response to Deepfakes

  Of the ACM (the Association for Computing Machinery), a magazine called Communication of the ACM's edition releases 1 month before its stated release month. In the latest edition, regarding March 2021, of Communications of the ACM , Column Editor, Susan J. Winter wrote Computing Ethics: What To Do About Deepfakes . Regarding Winter’s desire to halt or hinder illegal or unethical deepfakes, a video technology like wearing a full body masking suit, Winter wrote, “Here are three areas where technical experts can make positive contributions to the development of synthetic media technologies: education and media literacy, subject defense, and verification” (Winter, March, 2021). Winter was saying actions such as teaching and having disruptive technology knowledge, researching professionally, and proving concepts are parts of deepfake experts’ calculus. On an Android Pie Update: the Screenshot Notification is a Paradigm Shift

On Android Pie, I have a screenshot notification update, but Android Oreo does not have this screenshot notification.

One Android generation ago, the Android screenshot notifier is (not 'was' because I own an Android Oreo license) not effective because Android Oreo requires the overencumbering phone search; but for a single file, this is a fatal business flaw: Bill Gates designed an Internet-adversary, Microsoft because he did not want his proprietary technology shared. On Android Oreo, a mobile device OS (Operating System); Sindar Pinchai is doing the same thing.

Android Pie

Sindar Pinchai took the Android foundation, the Google file search, and he made the notification system have a share feature using open source technology: what Bill Gates is marketing using closed-source copyright, Sindar Pinchai is marketing using open-source; but the middle ground is the CS (Computer Science).

Communicating is Key

The concept is communicating, and Google released Android Pie August 6, 2018 but Google shut down the Google+ non-personal version one year later: April 2, 2019

Pinchai's decision pair is counterintuitive, and Pinchai repeated Gates' mistake: on history,  they both abandoned each living faith.
Against hypocrisy, the Christian Matthew wrote Jesus' warning. Against the Pharisees, Matthew (NIV) wrote: Jesus said, "They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them." With Google marketing Android Pie, Google's communicating platform,  Google+, Android Pie was the prime media platform; but now Android Pie has a non-Google origin-dependent sharing. For this hypocrisy, Pinchai should have been fired. However, Pinchai remains the Google CEO, but Pinchai cannot connect his own company's Copyright. By the United States and a state, Virginia, I earned my CS degree. On Dec 22, 2018, Regent University gave me my Computer Science degree, but Sundar Pinchai is not a Computer Scientist; but Sundar Pinchai is a Business Technologist; but Sundar Pinchai is a Materials Scientist and Engineer; but Sundar Pinchai is a Business Administrator.

Future Plans

Since Pinchai ended Google+, I shall make my own communications media, here. My current program is adding Computer Scientist content.

IS the Future of AI “Women?”

Interdisciplinary Campus Culture On April 14, 2020, Katy Rank Lev wrote the Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) news article The Future of AI is Female . Since artificial intelligence’s (AI) initial measurement, wrote Lev, CMU built AI. Lev wrote that each of the colleges CMU is representing contribute to make AI a new field, describing this AI as a frontier, humanity can democratize: from healthcare, the eventual goal area is education. In a rush, Lev cut the conversation short, and Lev mentioned CMU’s interdisciplinary campus culture as the source of the effective AI women, but this is despite women historically not represented as scientists, technologists, and engineers, and math (STEM), worldwide. Drone Uses AI and 11,500 Crashes to Learn How to Fly

Learning to Fly by Crashing On 10 May, 2017, Evan Ackerman wrote the IEEE (Institute for Electricians and Electrical Engineers) SPECTRUM article Drone Uses AI and 11,500 Crashes to Learn How to Fly. In Ackerman’s article, Ackerman used a block quote by Carnegie Mellon University roboticists Dhiraj Gandhi, Lerrel Pinto; and Abhinav Gupta, the writers of a paper, “Learning to Fly by Crashing” (Gandhi, et. al., 27 Apr 2017). From Ackerman’s block quote from Gandhi, et. al., “[T]he gap between simulation and real world remains large especially for perception problems” (Gandhi, et. al.).
